Jiddu’s World

In the beginning, there was a humble girl by the name of Jiddu. An outwardly timid thing, gossamer in stature but strong where it mattered. She had always been an adventurous and curious sort, forever seeking out enticing new experiences and always following her thirst for knowledge. But none of that prepared her for the journey ahead.

One day, while on a mindless walk meant to offer a temporary oblivion from mundanity, she stumbled upon a mysterious sight; one that should have frightened her, yet her brave soul felt only interest. A light, of sorts, though nothing could be seen with average sight. Without hesitation, she fearlessly stepped through it, eager to see what lay on the other side of this curiosity.

Once her foot felt the lushness of fresh grass beneath it, Jiddu found herself in a strange and wondrous world, unlike anything she had ever seen before. The sky held layers upon layers of a cosmic purple haze within its framed embrace, and the trees felt taller than they ever have before. Judging. Waiting… almost as if the forest itself was made witness to… something. Something from Jiddu. But what? Ignoring the feeling of being watched, she continued on in her journey under the world’s watchful gaze and encountered all sorts of bizarre creatures, as well as many challenges that aimed to derail and demoralize, along the way.

Yet, as she navigated this strange world, the young wanderer found that there was much more to this mystifying microcosm of a universe than she previously knew. She felt as though the strings of reality were delicate like silk, expertly slipping between her fingers as if making some grand escape. It took far too long and no time at all to realize just how her perception began to shift and process the evolution happening around her.

In moments of quiet, she heard the loud proclamation of silence; a sound so unique that it felt separate from worldly familiarity. And it was… in that exploration outside of the known that she began to learn about philosophy and the deeper meanings of life broken free from her own chaptered tale. She craved knowledge to understand her own perception. And in spite of it. She gained wisdom from creatures and challenges alike that she encountered throughout her wafting journey, and it was in this process of rebirth that she began to see the world in a new light. A light not normally perceived through human eyes.

As time went on, Jiddu became more and more immersed in this world, forgetting about the life she had left behind. She lost herself in the sensations of that which she cannot feel. She buried herself in the poetry of all-expansive nothingness that hides everything you could ever want and more. She became wiser and more knowledgeable with each passing day, and while felt like she had finally found her true purpose in life, her detachment from her earthly duties could not be ignored by those watchful trees.

As it so often wants to do, the universe saw this imbalance and aimed to correct this slight. At Chaos’ behest, tragedy struck a mercilessly cold fear in her conscious; a spike of terror that aggressively fought for space at her back, wresting her spine from its rightful place. It was then that Jiddu realized that she could never return to her old life. She had become so engrossed in this new world that she had forgotten about the people and the living that she left behind. She was lost, both physically and emotionally, unable to find her way back to the world she once knew, yet her mind had never known such sweet freedom.

In the end, Jiddu realized that the beauty and wisdom she had found in this new world came at a great cost. She had sacrificed everything she had known and loved, and now she was left with nothing but everything. She had learned many valuable lessons in her time of blood and sinew, but in the end, she had lost everything that had ever mattered to her mortal self and embraced something wholly new. Connection through disconnection and the everything found in nothing.
